Finishing work continues on Hilda Hut as the snow begins to fall.  We won’t let the snow distract us (too much) from getting the hut wrapped up with a Big Red Bow for the INAUGURAL SKI TRIP February 6 – 13, 2012.  Champagne,  party hats and bling for everyone!  Guided & Catered $2,100 per person.  Don’t miss the fun – contact us today!

We had a blast of late summer sun for the past month but fall has now arrived with much needed rain and even an early season dusting of snow. The crew has been working hard and we won the race… Hilda Hut is under roof! Because we’re doing log construction the interior finishing is simplified and we are still on schedule for a mid-November completion. As well, we now have satellite internet! Just amazing!

Now that the deep winter snowpack has mostly receded we’ve been able to resume construction on Hilda Hut. During the past few weeks we’ve made great progress – three of the decks have been completed, the walls are now at the base of the third floor, and we anticipate being up to roof within three weeks.  Already the ski weeks for Hilda Hut 2012 are booking up, however we still have a good selection of prime weeks to choose from. We began construction last summer and will be back on the job just as soon as the 4 m snowpack melts!
Our progress to date:

• the bottom storey is complete with the windows
• in the 2nd storey sub-floor in place
• The framework of the deck is in place
• The micro-hydro system is installed and producing lots of power to the site
• The septic tank is buried
• All building materials are on site and resting quietly under a 4 meter snow pack!
